All humanity's miseries derive from not being able to sit quietly in a room alone. Blaise Pascal,

| What We Do |
|
We intend to accomplish our mission of enhancing human compassion and promoting peace through offering training and educational programs in spiritual practice and religious acceptance, sponsoring social service projects, and engaging in research. We have formed ONE Research Institute which is dedicated to providing services, training, and research focused on people who are disabled or disenfranchised. It also promotes the application of particular religious and spiritual principles to various disciplines within the field of health care with a special emphasis on developmental disabilities, mental health, and family counseling and care. Please click here for a more detailed program description. We have formed ONE Center for Spiritual Studies through which we offer educational and training programs in spiritual practice and religious acceptance. Currently under development is our program, Belief Unbound, in which we explore in depth the questions of how one understands the concept of spirituality given his or her particular religious heritage, how others understand spirituality within their particular religious tradition, and how, together, we might deepen our common understanding of spirituality. We intend to explore key spiritual concepts as expressed within the world's major spiritual traditions (including Buddhism, Hinduism, Christianity, Islam, Judaism, and Taoism) such as compassion and love, acceptance, nonviolence, nonjudgment, interdependence, forgiveness, mindfulness, and nonduality, among others. Please click here for a more detailed program description. As part of our commitment to social service, we are currently supporting several projects such as building a school for economically disadvantaged children in Navsari, Gujarat State in India and supporting Native Americans on the Pine Ridge Reservation in South Dakota. Finally, we have formed ONE Spirit, dedicated to breaking the cycle of poverty by strengthening families and promoting economic development and educational opportunities for Native Americans. Through ONE Spirit, we have established several important programs on the Pine Ridge and Cheyenne River Reservations, including a food co-op run by the Lakota people, a sponsorship program for children, families and elders; the Buffalo Children's Society, a youth art program that develops income potential and promotes international understanding through art and cross cultural contact; and an urgent needs program. We are also developing community-based programs such as the Cheyenne River Wood Project, the Lakota Theatre Project and the Native American Cultural Arts program.
