We believe that a person's sense of spirituality directly impacts the quality and meaning of his or her life. Currently under development is our program, Belief Unbound, in which we explore in depth the questions of how one understands the concept of spirituality given his or her particular religious heritage, how others understand spirituality within their particular religious tradition, and how, together, we might deepen our common understanding of spirituality. We intend to explore key spiritual concepts as expressed within the world's major spiritual traditions (including Buddhism, Hinduism, Christianity, Islam, Judaism, and Taoism) such as compassion and love, acceptance, nonviolence, nonjudgment, interdependence, forgiveness, mindfulness, and nonduality, among others, and to examine potential stumbling blocks to spiritual development such as ego, obsession, addiction, controlling behavior, greed, fear, and anger.
